Creative Blocks 82, Hamburg
How to reflect the new, digital world?
People thrive on social involvement and interaction. At the same time, they need places to which they can withdraw, i.e., privacy. These wishes need to be aligned when devising new concepts and designs for buildings. We respond to the changed requirements as regards life in a digital world – with a hybrid architecture that integrates different usages under a single roof. Living, working, and hospitality outlets, combined with service offerings are combined in a single building complex. Co-living and co-working give rise to new forms of neighborly coexistence.
An urban mixture of different types of living and working arised in the immediate vicinity of the water in the form of the Creative Blocks in Hamburg’s HafenCity. Usages do justice to inhabitants’ new wishes – because human interaction is crucial precisely in an age of digitization. Alongside your own private apartment, spacious common rooms serve as places to meet and mingle. Guest apartments and event areas can be rented when needed as a way of further fostering communicative life together. Pride of place in our design goes to the market hall: Here, exhibition zone, hospitality outlets, and crafts workshops mix in inspiring fashion. The partners in the crafts workshops either manufacture things on site or use the market hall to display their wares.
With ingenious hybrid architecture for flexible residential and work worlds.
